Yonkers Nurse Deborah Mascia Brings Gift Of Health To Women Of Madagascar

YONKERS, N.Y. – Yonkers resident and White Plains nurse Deborah Mascia will be spending the holidays helping others in the east African nation of Madagascar, according to a report on lohud.com.

A nurse at White Plains Hospital, Mascia is a volunteer with Mercy Ships, a medical charity, the report said.

She is serving aboard the Africa Mercy, the world’s largest private hospital ship, and is delivering health care to poor women, lohud.com reported.

According to lohud.com, Mascia signed on in August and will be working through February in the surgical unit of a health clinic on the island.
