This year, we welcome a newly elected City Council president and Council member to help guide our city in 2014 and beyond. I'm excited to work with them -- and the entire Council -- to continue the spirit of bipartisanship that has led to two balanced budgets, new development and jobs, historic investment in education, safer streets and the lowest property tax increase in 15 years.
As families in Yonkers gather around the dinner table, I hope you share my optimism for 2014. Like so many of you, I was born and raised in Yonkers and I love this city. I have no doubt that we will continue to overcome the challenges we face and build a great future.
