Jewish Teens Plan Day Of Service In Yomkers

YONKERS, N.Y. -- An afternoon of fun for elementary school students and their families with activities to promote healthy, happy and nutritious households is set for Sunday, April 17, at Eugenio Maria de Hostos Microsociety School in Yonkers.

The event is being planned by Jewish teens from across Westchester County taking part in J-SERVE, an international day of Jewish service.

Westchester J-SERVE is sponsored by J-Teen Leadership, a teen led community service program and JCY- Westchester Community Partners.

The teens are collecting books to be given away as part of the afternoon. Youth groups from across Westchester will sponsor booths at the event's "Wealth of Health" carnival.

J-Teen Leadership is a community service leadership development initiative for Jewish high school students who want to make a difference in the world today. Teen participants plan and lead projects among efforts.

The event will run from 1 to 3 p.m. at the school, 75 Morris St., Yonkers

to follow Daily Voice Yonkers and receive free news updates.
