The restaurant, located within Empire City Casino in Yonkers, puts a new twist on the classic malt shop. Instead of jukeboxes at the bigger tables, there are taps featuring New York beers, which pour all you can drink.

Of note is the Mini Beef Short Rib Tacos, which feature succulent slow-roasted pulled short rib, guacamole, fresh cilantro and sour cream ($14).

Also, the Tuna Tartare, which is sushi-grade tuna seasoned with olive oil, lemon juice, capers and fresh herbs; served with taro chips and guacamole ($17).

Thirdly, the onion soup, a French classic from Chef Fabienne Eymard's homeland, is gratineed and served with a beer shooter ($12).

Chef Fabienne Eymard, of France, considers cooking to be her life. She has lived in the United States for five years, and has cooked for more than 20.

"I use my experiences, combined with classic dishes, to provide a very modern connotation to the food and to reimagine classic recipes," she said.

While the menu sports familiar American classics, the beer is what makes this place truly unique. Ninety-nine taps line the bar area, each sporting a New York state beer of vast variety, fed from the elevated keg room above the open kitchen.

Between tap, bottle and large-format, the restaurant sports around 170 beers.

Of note for Autumn and Winter is the Ommegang Abbey Ale, which exudes the rich tastes of raisin and toffee. It originates from Cooperstown, N.Y. ($8).

Resident Cicerone and head of the beverage program James Tai can name every beer pinch serves and where it comes from, but he can also give you plenty of tips on which beer to pair with your meal. More importantly, he endeavors to provide every beer drinker with a great experience.

"A lot of places sell their beer at a very high price, but I believe beer is an everyman's drink. We want to offer variety and a real experience while still being accessible to the average person," he said.

And it's true, you won't pay over $10 for a standard 750ml glass. If you want to take some beer home, there is also an in-house growler filling station.

The restaurant also offers 80 varieties of New York, Californian, and French wine; beer cocktails and regular cocktails; along with daily specials on beer and food.

It is open for dinner Sunday through Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and Friday through Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The bar is open daily from 5 p.m. to midnight.

It will also be participating in the Valley Table Hudson Valley Restaurant Week from Nov. 4-17, where it will offer special price fixed menus.
