YONKERS, N.Y. -- The Yonkers Animal Shelter wants the public to meet Alfie and Matilda, a dog and cat, being featured as this week's "Pets of the Week."
Alfie is 16-month-old male, who has been at the shelter for a few months. He is described as having "many features and qualities, most notably his adorable spotted nose," as well as "smart." He has been socialized by a volunteer on a regular basis, and knows basic commands, loves to play ball, and splash in the doggie pool.
Matilda is a three-year-old, eight-pound Tortoiseshell cat. She is quite, doesn't make a fuss, and always content, according to the shelter. In addition, Matilda loves the outdoors, gets along with other cats, but enjoys a day at home too. She would be perfect in any household setting, said the release.
