Entertainment and music will highlight the family oriented evening, starting at 5 p.m., and the fireworks display will be at 9:15 p.m. over the Hudson River.
"July Fourth is not only a time to enjoy the love of family and friends,” said Tim Rooney, president and CEO of Empire City Casino.
“It is a time to reflect on the incredible freedoms we enjoy, to remember the sacrifices of the men, women and families who protect those freedoms, and celebrate this incredible country and city in which we are blessed to live. It is our honor to be able to provide the great City of Yonkers with a Star-Spangled Spectacular that will light up the sky.”
The Yonkers Waterfront, from Warburton Avenue down to the pier, between Main and Dock Streets, will be blocked off from traffic starting at 4 p.m., so residents can walk around and enjoy the downtown restaurants, shops and stages set for entertainment, according to the Mayor's office.
