The Sherwood House is one of the few remaining pre- Revolutionary War tenant farmhouses in the New York Metropolitan area.
The 275th anniversary gala will take place on Thursday, Oct. 15, at Zuppa Restaurant, 59 Main St., from 6 to 9 p.m.
Tickets are $125 per person.
The primary goal of this fundraising event is to make Sherwood House handicapped accessible.
The historic Sherwood House, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is owned and maintained by the Yonkers Historical Society.
It was built about 1740 by Thomas Sherwood on land leased from Frederick Philipse, and was purchased in 1801 by Yonkers’ first physician, Doctor John Ingersoll.
The Sherwood House Museum, at 340 Tuckahoe Road, is reopening for the season on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m.
