The volunteer docents present art, history and science programs by conducting tours of the museum's 19th through 21st century American art exhibitions and collections, its historic home, Glenview, and its environmental teaching gallery, the Hudson Riverama.

Hudson River Museum docents attend a class every Monday morning to learn about the museum's collections from members of the staff and other experts on subjects of art, history and science. Upon completion of this basic training, each docent makes a commitment to give tours of the exhibitions one day per week.

The open house is from 1-3 p.m. at the museum, 511 Warburton Avenue, Yonkers, and will allow potential volunteers to tour the museum and learn about the program from current docents and education staff.
