YONKERS, N.Y. – A dozen members of the Manhattan Quilters Guild will be showcasing their approaches to the contemporary art quilt in ways that will "astonish and reward the visitor" at an exhibition later this month in Yonkers.
Each of the members of group of artists have been recognized with awards, museum exhibitions, published books and articles. This show is designed to help introduce people to contemporary art quilts and help the public reconsider how quilt making has been created in the past.
The exhibition will run from March 21 through April 18. An opening reception will be held on March 21 from 2 to 5 p.m. There will be a closing reception as well on April 18 from 2 to 5 p.m.
The exhibition is being held at the Blue Door Gallery, 13 Riverdale Ave., Yonkers. Admission is free. Gallery hours are Thursday through Saturday 12 to 5 p.m.
