St. Peter's Church To Celebrate Hurricane Sandy Volunteers In Yonkers

YONKERS, N.Y. --- Catholic charities will host an event at St. Peter's Church in Yonkers on Saturday, Jan. 4, at 7 p.m. to honor volunteers who helped to rebuild homes affected by Hurricane Sandy and celebrate the release of the annual Obreros de Yonkers’ accomplishments report

An Epiphany mass, Three Kings celebration, and gift distribution to Hurricane Sandy volunteers will take place. 

The schedule of events are as follows:

Epiphany Mass: 7 p.m.                                   

Three Kings Celebration (Lower Church/Gym): 8:15 p.m.

Dinner Served (Buffet Style): 8:30 p.m. 

Recognition of Sandy Volunteers: 9 p.m.    

Honorees who  will be celebrated are Monsignor Kevin Sullivan, executive director, Catholic Charities; Yonkers, Mayor Michael Spano; the  Rev. Lino Otero, pastor of St, Peter’s;  Aurelio Castro, president, Obreros Unidos de Yonkers; 300 day laborers, spouses and children; Sisters of Charity; the Yonkers Police Department and the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal.
