The date coincides with National Working Parents Day.
Adults will get a free pass when they go to one of the nine indoor Lego playgrounds with a child on the special day.
There will be family-focused games and activities such as parent-and-child "Build & Test" races and model-building challenges, among others.
Letters are being sent by the Legoland centers to workplaces in the United States and Canada to show appreciation for parents with a special “Adults Go Free” offer valid to Sept. 16.
The announcement follows a report, "The Work Martyr's Children" by Project: Time Off, which revealed Americans are taking less vacation time than at any point in the last 40 years. It showcases the benefits of quality time spent between parents and their kids.
Legoland Discovery Center Westchester is geared toward kids ages 3-10, offering educational and interactive elements. There are New York City landmarks made of Lego bricks, among other highlights.
The National Parent and Child Play Day offer can be found online with the promotion code "PLAYDAY" and is valid for one free One-Day Adult Ticket with the purchase of a full-price One-Day Child Ticket now through Sept. 16.
The offer is also valid on walk-up tickets with the coupon (patrons may print the code or show it on their phone). Adults must be accompanied by children to enter.
Legoland Discovery Center Westchester is at 39 Fitzgerald St., Yonkers.
