The film begins at 8 p.m., and bar and food service begins at 7 p.m. Tickets for advance reserved seating are available online at Drafthouse.com and at the concierge desk day of show.
The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Yonkers opened in August 2013 and is a state-of-the-art movie house featuring luxurious seating with dine-in food and bar service during the movie.
Named the Top Irish Film of All Time by IrishCentral.com, “The Quiet Man” is the 1952 American romantic comedy-drama classic, famed for its lush photography of the Irish countryside and starring John Wayne, Maureen O'Hara, Barry Fitzgerald, Ward Bond and Victor McLaglen.
“The Quiet Man”” was directed by John Ford, winning the 1952 Academy Award for Best Director, and another for Best Cinematography. The screenplay, by Frank S. Nugent, was based on a 1933 Saturday Evening Post short story by Maurice Walsh.
A special menu of Irish bar and dining favorites has been created for this celebration. Bar service will include a wine list, green beer, standards such as Guinness, Bushmills, Jameson, Bailey's Irish Cream, Harp, Powers, Irish Coffee, and Alamo’s trademark “adult” shakes, on this day Guinness and Green.
In addition to Alamo’s regular menu of appetizers, snacks, main courses and desserts, dining choices will include: Appetizer: Guinness and Cheddar rarebit – served on scratch-made Soda Bread, twice-baked potatoes with Spring Onion, Cheddar, Bacon and Stout. Main Course: Irish Lamb Stew – Lamb, Carrots, Potatoes and Stout. Dessert: Chocolate & Whiskey mousse served with house- made shortbread. Costumed management and servers will add to the fun.
