WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Snow began to accumulate Monday evening with a winter weather advisory in effect for White Plains until 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Snow turned heavy Monday night and began to accumulate before 8 p.m. About 1 to 2 inches of snow is expected. Snow will then mix with and change to sleet and freezing rain overnight, according to the National Weather Service. It will turn to all rain by Tuesday morning.
A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause difficult travel conditions, including slippery roads and limited visibility.
