WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A potentially historic storm is approaching Westchester County with some snow possibly starting as early as Monday morning with the heaviest snow and winds expected Monday night through Tuesday with a Blizzard Warning issued by the National Weather Service.

Westchester could see a total of 18-24 inches with the Nor'easter expected to bring the area to a standstill throughout the day and evening Tuesday.

Snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches is possible during the day Monday, with 6 to 10 inches possible overnight in Tuesday morning.

An additional 6 to 10 inches is possible during the day Tuesday with wind gusts as high as between 30 and 35 miles per hour likely.

The slow-moving system is expected to finally taper off sometime around midnight Wednesday.

It will be bitter cold both Monday and Tuesday, with high temperatures only in the mid 20s both days.

The outlook for Wednesday is cloudy to start, followed by partly sunny skies and a high only around 25 degrees.
