The time frame for the storm is Monday, Nov. 30 into Tuesday, Dec. 1. The days leading up to the arrival of the system will be dry with temperatures continuing to be above normal through the weekend with daily highs ranging from the low to upper 50s. Route 138 Stretch Reopens; Crash Causes I-684 Delays This story has been updated. Two crashes caused commuters and holiday travelers delays late Thursday afternoon into the evening. There were stop-and-go delays on northbound I-684 following a crash at Route 35 (Exit 6) in Katonah reported just before 4:30 p.m. Delays stretched back to Route 172 (Exit 4) in Bedford. Nearby, a stretch of Route 138 was closed for several hours between Route 100 and Bradys Farm Road in Goldens Bridge following a crash just before 4 p.m. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

A Flash Flood Watch is now in effect from 1 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21 until 1 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22. The National Weather Service is now forecasting 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain with locally higher amounts, especially in any thunderstorms, with most of the area in a marginal risk for excessive rainfall. Severe Thunderstorm Watch: Storms With Downpours, Gusty Winds, Lightning Moving Through Area With an increase in the chance for storms Friday afternoon and evening, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch is now in effect for the area. The watch, issued at 3:40 p.m. by the National Weather Service, is in effect until 11 p.m. Friday. Among the counties covered by the watch are Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland, Orange and Fairfield. Precipitation is expected to start as all snow for the entire region early Wednesday morning before quickly turning to sleet, freezing rain and then rain in and around New York City and along the coast.
