A joint investigation by authorities has led to the arrest of a Hudson Valley man accused of sex crimes against a child, rape, and other charges. The New York State Police Child Abuse Unit (CAU) in Orange County announces the arrest of Eduardo R. Martinez Rojas, age 29, from the town of Woodbury on Friday evening, June 16. Man Faces Assault Charge After Altercation With Woman On I-87
An Orange County man allegedly punched a woman in the face and attempted to take her cell phone as she was calling 911, State Police said. A physical altercation broke out at approximately 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30 on I-87 in Woodbury near the Woodbury Toll Plaza, police said, after a man and woman were involved in a dispute. The investigation determined that Newburgh resident Michael Aikens, 28, allegedly punch a 23-year-old woman in the nose during an argument and then sought to take her phone to prevent her from calling police. Woman Charged With DWI In I-87 Stop Driving Twice Legal Limit, Police Say
A woman from Rockland is facing DWI charges after police say she was allegedly driving at twice the legal limit during an I-87 traffic stop. Sunday, Feb. 10 around 3 a.m., New York State Police responded to the Woodbury exit of I-87 on the report of a driver who did not have the funds needed to pay the thruway toll. The driver, 52-year-old Alicia E. Snyder of Sloatsburg, was determined to be intoxicated, police said. Snyder was arrested and transported to SP Newburgh. HS Football Coach Sent Minors Sexually Explicit Material, Police Say

An assistant high school football coach and former varsity star in the Hudson Valley has been charged with sending indecent material to minors after allegedly sending explicit text messages. Justin Kaffenberger is the assistant football coach of the Monroe-Woodbury junior varsity football team.
