New Nor'easter's Heavy Snow, Strong Winds Could Cause Power Outages
Click here for an updated story: Projected Snowfall Totals Increase As New Nor'easter Nears While some uncertainty still remains about the potential amount of snowfall from the fourth Nor'easter to hit the region this month, the heavy, wet snow, combined with strong winds, could lead to new power outages and tree damage. Winds will gust 30 to 35 mph along the coast during the height of the storm on Wednesday, 25 to 30 mph inland and 25 mph or less farther north. (See second image above.) Weather Whiplash: From Sun, 70's To Sleet, Snow
Sunny skies and temperatures that soared into the upper-70s on Wednesday provided a picture perfect preview of spring. As temperatures continue to drop later Thursday afternoon, rain will change over to sleet and freezing rain northeast New Jersey, the Lower Hudson Valley and Connecticut and to a wintry mix with some snow north of I-84. The mixed bag of prec…

Dangerous Cold Will Be Followed By New Storm Bringing Ice, Snow To Area
A dangerously cold weekend with wind-chill factors plummeting to as low -22 degrees in parts of the area will be followed a new storm system that will usher in warmer temperatures but not before bringing snow and ice. Saturday will be sunny and cold, with a high near 10 and winds gusting as high as 40 miles per hour, making it feel more like it's between -5 and -15 and i…
