WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. The White Plains Tigers learned how to win last week, earning their first victory of the season at Mount Vernon, setting up this Thursdays 5 p.m. game against visiting Suffern.

With only four unbeaten teams in Class AA, the Tigers (1-2) are hoping to win out and make their way into the playoffs with just two losses. A victory Thursday with just four days between games could motivate the team for the remainder of the season.
Quarterback Jeff Avery threw two touchdown passes to Khasi Coachman in the 28-6 victory over Mount Vernon and the Tigers defense played its best game of the season. Everett, who is the big-play speed back, missed the game due to a concussion and hopes to play.
Running back Michael Scottman ran for a touchdown and Adrian Clinton ran 20 yards with an interception for the Tigers.
Suffern (2-2) comes off a 21-7 win over Ketcham and is led by quarterback Deuce Schwartz, who is 38 for 66 for 350 yards passing, and several running backs, including Albert Emmett, Brad Parrot and Kevin McNally, who have compiled 550 rushing yards over four games.
If White Plains can limit Sufferns passing game it should get a win here.
