White Plains Hoops Star Trying Out For Team USA

Ra'Shad James, who played at White Plains High School, St. Thomas Aquinas, and at Iona College, could next be wearing the red, white and blue.

James is one of 16 players who will participate in the USA Basketball Men's AmeriCup Team training camp to participate in the FIBA AmeriCup 2017. The camp will be held from Aug. 17 to Aug. 24 in Houston and 12 players will be selected from the camp.

The tournament begins on Aug. 28. Team USA is being coached by former Chappaqua resident Jeff Van Gundy.

Ra'Shad James last played for Cedevita Zagreb in Croatia and previously played for the Westchester Knicks.
