JP's Sports and Rock Solid Promotions held a March Madness card show featuring vendors hawking autographed cards, autographed baseballs, programs and any type of sports memorabilia you could think of.
Rivera was the headliner, but the day also featured Brooklyn Dodger legends, Carl Erskine and Ralph Branca, a Rye native, signing autographs, as well as former Yankee Reuben Sierra.
Mike Adamovich from Cortlandt said was in line to meet Erskine, Branca and Sierra.
"I grew up wearing No. 13 like Branca did," Adamovich said. "And I'm a huge Yankee fan, so I want to meet Sierra."
Frank Salamone was selling baseballs of players past and present, having been in the business since 1985. Salamone said his most popular items are balls signed by Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio
"As long as they sell, it's all good," Salamone said.
Rich Raccai of Fairfield has Yankee season tickets and couldn't pass up the opportunity to meet Rivera.
"It was pretty neat getting to meet him," Raccai said. "He was very nice."
Raccai, who had been to many of these card shows, said his highlight was once meeting former Yankees first baseman Don Mattingly.
John Goodman, a graduate of White Plains High School, has been selling pre- World War II baseball cards since 1989.
"My cards are rare and expensive," Goodman said. "They don't sell as fast, but people really appreciate the artwork."
Goodman said he loves anything old, particularly Babe Ruth and Christy Mathewson baseball cards.
Branca, famous for giving up the 'Shot Heard Round The World' home run to Bobby Thompson of the New York Giants in a 1954 playoff game, said he enjoyed meeting his fans.
"I'm surprised how enthusiastic people are to meet me," Branca said. "I am very thrilled."
