White Plains Students Star in "The Diary of Anne Frank"

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Maddy Gartenberg stars as Anne Frank in White Plains High School's production of "The Diary of Anne Frank" this weekend in the Little Theatre. Seren Cepler and Doug Cronk direct the drama. Based on the best selling book, "Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl," it tells the story of a young girl hiding from Adolf Hitler's armies as they invade the city of Amsterdam, according to the school. Her diary became a record of her Jewish family's struggle to survive in hiding during World War II, the school said.

Alongside Gartenberg are Anthony Fante, as Otto Frank and David Axelrod, as Peter Van Daan, the school said. The production also stars Melissa Cabrero, Rodolfo Garay, Maddy Gartenberg, Jordan Grobe, Zeeva Halpern, Arielle Hazi, Rebecca Pearl, Travis Petre, Daniela Poppe, Blair Sabol, Alecia Spitz, and Victoria Stangarone, the school said.

The curtain goes up Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students, district faculty and staff, and senior citizens. The ticket reservation hotline is 914-422-2234, or via email.
