Connors served as superintendent for seven years before retiring in 2009. He will replace Chris Clouet, who resigned to take a position at the Tarrytown schools. He will leave the school district June 30. Until then, Connors will consult with the school on a periodic basis.
“We are confident that Mr. Connors is the right choice to ensure continuity and stability and move the district forward in this transition period,” Board President Rosemarie Eller said in a statement. “He is a dynamic leader who offers experience, enthusiasm and has demonstrated his ability to work effectively within this school district and the wider community.”
The board will continue its search for a permanent replacement, Eller added.
Connors, who holds a master’s degree from Harvard, had also been a superintendent in Danbury, Conn., Bloomington, MA, and Woonsocket, RI.
