Ritz & White Plains Students to Host Bake Sale

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- White Plains middle schoolers will team up with the Ritz-Carlton Westchester to assist American children in need one cupcake at a time.

The hotel and local students are hosting a bake sale Friday. All proceeds will go towards the Pajama Program, a charity that provides American children in need with fresh pajamas and new books.

The Ritz-Carlton's pastry crew and middle schoolers will be outside the BLT Steak restaurant on Main Street from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, selling the cookies, cupcakes, and other baked goods they've decorated.

Pamela Aoun, the Ritz-Carlton's human resources coordinator, said she was pleased to work with middle schoolers to benefit a "great cause," as the hotel did last year.

"We are committed to helping the community and the bake sale will give others an opportunity to join us and help out as well," Aoun said in a statement.

Last year's bake sale raised $620.
