The partnership came to an end after legislators passed a measure that prohibits the dissemination of student data. The state must now make sure all data already given to the company is deleted as well, LoHud.com reported.
The collection of student data was contentious from a number of angles. Parents and educators were concerned about the security of the data while education groups throughout the area didn't want to lose local control of student records, according to LoHud.com.
