The Military Friendly School designation honors the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools that offer the most support to America’s active duty military personnel and veterans as they seek to further their education.

Institutions are selected based on the support and benefits offered to military students such as military scholarships and discounts, veterans’ clubs, and a full-time staff dedicated to working with veterans.

“It is an honor for Berkeley College to receive this award for the fifth consecutive year,” Richard E. Robitaille, Berkeley College assistant vice president of Military and Veterans Affairs said in a statement. “Berkeley College is distinguished in that it has four onsite Veterans Resource Centers – at the New York locations in Midtown Manhattan and Brooklyn and at the New Jersey locations in Woodland Park and Newark. In addition, earlier this year Berkeley College launched an Online Veterans Resource Center providing the school with the opportunity to reach a far greater number of student veterans, as well as students who are active service members stationed overseas.”

Approximately 500 military students and veterans are enrolled at Berkeley College in New York and New Jersey, and through Berkeley College Online.

Berkeley College, which also has a location in White Plains  also participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program under the G.I. Bill and collaborates on national ventures with the National Guard, the Army and the Air Force, the GoArmyEd distance learning program, and the Navy College Program Distance Learning Partnership.
