Police Unions Endorse Astorino

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- After a number of public endorsements, it is clear that the majority of Westchester County law enforcement endorse County Executive Rob Astorino for re-election.

Members from eight county law enforcement organizations congregated in front of the county courthouse in White Plains to announce their endorsement of Astorino on Wednesday.

Bruce Donnelly, president of the Westchester County Correction Superior Officers said, "We are here today to enthusiastically announce our endorsement of County Executive Rob Astorino for a second term."

He said, "Along with not raising taxes on our residents, County Executive Astorino has worked with law enforcement to keep the safety of families in Westchester (a priority.)" 

Astorino said, "It is a tremendous honor to receive the support of the men and women who keep this county safe day in and day." 

Donnelly told The Daily Voice he believes that Astorino will continue to support law enforcement and provide them with the tools they need as they fight crime in every municipality. 

"I hope to continue to give (law enforcement) the tools they need to do the job they have to do," Astorino told The Daily Voice. "They are an integral part in keeping our schools safe especially and our communities safe.

"They are on the front lines and intelligence in keeping our communities safe, and I will continue to provide them the tools they need in fiscally responsible ways." 

The organizations present to endorse Astorino included the Westchester County Affiliated Police Association; Westchester County Correction Superior Officers Association; New York State Fraternal Order of Police; Westchester County Correction Officers Benevolent Association; Yonkers Police Captains, Lieutenants, Sergeants Association; Westchester County Police PBA; Westchester County District Attorney Investigators Association; and the White Plains PBA.
