The county's goal is to assist residents ages 60 and older with remaining in their homes with such services as bathing and other personal care assistance performed by trained and qualified personal care aides. Funding comes from grants through the federal Older Americans Act.

"It is of paramount importance that the county provide quality services to seniors at competitive prices," Astorino said. "The RFP process enables us to do just that – to easily compare various options and their costs."

Proposals must be received no later than 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16. Interested agencies should send two original copies of their proposal to: Sandra Brown, program administrator, Department of Senior Programs and Services, County Office Building, 9 S. First Ave., 10th Floor, Mount Vernon, NY 10550.

For details, contact Brown at shs2@westchestergov.com or 914-813-6413.
