White Plains Sears Employee Charged With Stealing From Store

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A Sears employee is charged with stealing $327.96 worth of merchandise from the Galleria Mall store from September to December, according to a White Plains police report.

David Carpenter, 49, was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

Store security told police they had been investigating the matter and had seen Carpenter, of Tuckahoe, take various items while working and leave the store without paying between Sept. 1 and Dec. 6. The items include a Craftsman winter jacket, eight sodas, eight candy bars, one men’s shirt, three sets of headphones, four screwdrivers, one pair of Reebok sneakers, one pair of socks and two ties, police said.

He was arrested and held for court.
