White Plains Man, 24, Raped Unconscious Woman, Police Say

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A 24-year-old White Plains man has been charged with rape in the first degree following a joint investigation between the White Plains Police Department, Elmsford Police Department and state police.

State Police in Hawthorne arrested Benjamin A. Gomez on Saturday following the investigation, which determined he had sexual intercourse with a female acquaintance who was unconscious and unable to consent, state police said.

Gomez was arraigned and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail. He is scheduled to reappear in court on Monday.
