Five Youths Accused Of Taking White Plains Man's Phone

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Two young men and three juveniles from the Bronx were arrested and accused of taking a White Plains man's cell phone near the train station, police report.

Jozef, 21, and Gjergi Prenaj, 16, were charged with second-degree robbery, a felony, and the three juveniles were released to their parents. Gjergj was also charged with false personation, a misdemeanor, because he repeatedly gave a false name before eventually giving his true identity, the report says.

The victim told police the five stole his Boost Mobile cell phone, worth $100, in the area of Ferris Avenue and the train station late Saturday night.

Police searched the area and found a group of five males. When they saw the police car, the report says, the five to walk faster, but police stopped them and  the victim positively identified them as the perpetrators. All the suspects refused to give statements to the police.

Police recovered the victim’s cell phone a few yards from where the suspects were stopped in front of 30 Hillside Terrace.

Gjergi and Jozef were held for court.
