WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. A White Plains man was arraigned Thursday on a felony charge for offering to pay $50 to have sex with an undercover Westchester investigators fictional underage step-daughter," Westchester District Attorney Janet DiFiore said.
Edward Lee III, 30, was arraigned on one count of second-degree attempted rape, a felony, and one count of second-degree attempted patronizing a prostitute, a misdemeanor.
The district attorneys office investigator pretended to be an adult male with a 13-year-old step-daughter in a series of alleged email conversations with Lee between Sept. 16-26.
Lee is a self-employed personal trainer who rents office space on Central Avenue in Scarsdale.
The suspect allegedly wrote in the emails about sexual acts he wanted to engage in with the teenage step-daughter in exchange for money. The two allegedly set up a meeting. When the suspect showed up and allegedly paid the undercover step-father $50, he was arrested, officials said. Bail was set at $5,000.
Lee is due back in court Sept. 28 and, if convicted, faces a maximum sentence of four years in state prison.
