Herrero was born May 23, 1926, in Havana, Cuba, daughter of Francisco Valdes and Manuel Molina. She studied English in Cuba and at the age of 30 immigrated to the United States. She settled into White Plains and raised her family for the next 57 years. She worked at Sam’s of Gedney Way, her son’s restaurant.
Herrero is survived by her son, Peter Herrero (Karen); daughter, Marie Herrero; and five granddaughters. She was predeceased by her parents.
Calling hours are Friday, Aug. 2 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the McMahon Lyon Harnett Funeral Home. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3 at St. Bernard’s Church with interment to follow at White Plains Rural Cemetery.
