AVENTURA, Fla. - George A. Weissblum, formerly of White Plains, N.Y., died Aug. 11. He was 88.
Weissblum was born in the Bronx, N.Y., in 1924. He was educated in New York schools, earned a B.A. from New York University, served in the Army during World War II, and graduated from Brooklyn Law School, passing the bar exam in 1949. He was awarded a Juris Doctor in 1967. He ran his own general law practice in Bronxville and Yonkers. He served as arbitrator in N.Y. Civil Court and as president of the Yonkers Lawyers Association and as delegate to the Westchester County Bar Association.
Weissblum is survived by his daughters, Ellen Weissblum of Albany, N.Y., Niome; sister, Roslyn Becker of Martinsville, N.J.; and brother, Irwin. He was predeceased by his sister, Miriam Friedman; and his longtime companion, Louise Gerstein.
After a service held in Paramus, N.J., on Aug. 15, he was entombed at the Sanctuary of Abraham and Sarah.
