Elsie Louise Roemer, 101, Of White Plains, Worked At AT&T

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Elsie Louise Roemer of White Plains died July 1. She was 101.

Roemer was born June 14, 1912, to Marie and Henry Roemer. She lived her early years in the Yorkville section of Manhattan, later moving to the Bronx and then White Plains. She was one of the earliest AT&T long lines operators handling international calls, later becoming a communications supervisor and a member of the Pioneers organization at AT&T. She spent time at the Rosary Hill Home.

Roemer is survived by her nephew, Frederick Roemer Jr. of Rumson, N.J.; and her grand nieces, Alexis Benson and Christine Roemer both of New York City. She was predeceased by her parents; and brother, Frederick.

Funeral services will be private.
