WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Cornelius K. Barry (Connie), a White Plains resident and former Sunnyside Queens resident, died Aug. 26. He was 79.
Barry was born Feb. 7, 1934, in Brooklyn, to Henry and Johanna Barry. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959 serving at HQ CO 12th Engineer BN APO 111 in Germany. He worked as an ironworker in Local Union 580 for 33 years.
Barry is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Kevin (Nancy) Barry of White Plains, Elizabeth (Jimmy) Duffy of Ridgefield and Jeanine (Pat) McCarrick of White Plains; six grandchildren; and sisters, Christine Leventhal, Mazie McMullan and Mary Ficik. He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
Calling hours are Wednesday, Aug. 28 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29 at St. Bernard's Church. Entombment at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
