WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Aronzo A. Valerio of White Plains died July 2. He was 95.

Valerio was born Oct. 15, 1917, in New York, to Donata Chimienti and Nicholas Valerio. A Purple Heart recipient, he served in the U.S. Army, military police serving a tour of duty in Casablanca, Morocco. He returned to the  U.S. July 4, 1943.

Valerio attended the Columbia University School of Journalism on a G.I. bill and went to work for Hearst Publishing in New York. He later joined Ladies Home Journal in 1966 as advertising director and was publisher until his retirement in 1989. He was a member Westchester Country Club, Rye.

Valerio is survived by his sons, Michael Valerio, Los Angeles, Calif., Mark Valerio, Greenwich, Conn., and Stephen Valerio, White Plains; sister, Ann Sullivan, Merrick; and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Imelda Theresa Bell.
