Arnold Cardillo Jr., 90, White Plains WWII Veteran

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Arnold Umberto Cardillo Jr. of White Plains died Sept. 3. He was 90. 

Born Dec. 9, 1921, in Greenburgh, he was a son of Carmela Sullo and Arnaldo Umberto Cardillo. He served in the Navy during World War II from February 1942 to November 1945. 

Before his retirement in 1987, Cardillo worked as a liquor distributor salesman for Capital Distributors Inc. for 35 years. He was also a member of Roma Italian-American Athletic Club. On May 19, 1946, he married Rose Theresa D'Ambrosio in White Plains. 

Cardillo is survived by a son, Arnold M. (Debra Skiver) Cardillo, of Clinton Corners, N.Y.; a sister, Vincie Pierce, of Babylon, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife; three brothers, Louis Cardillo, Michael Vizzini and Thomas Vizzini. 

Visiting hours are from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at McMahon, Lyon and Hartnett Funeral Home in White Plains. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Christopher Monturo officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in White Plains.
