A $2.5 million lawsuit has been filed in the New York State Supreme Court by Jelena Baletic claiming that she was “brutally and physically assaulted” at the mall, and that employees there failed to protect her during the alleged attack earlier this year.

According to a lohud report, Baletic claims she was hospitalized and disabled and was unable to go to school or work because of her depression and anxiety stemming back to the incident in May.

Spokespeople from the mall could not immediately be reached for comment on Wednesday.

Baletic claims she was in line for food at the mall when a man knocked her bag over and accused her of shoving him. She was allegedly then shoved and struck in the face, though a police report did not identify any serious injury. The case remains under investigation.
