A wind advisory has been placed in effect from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday for all of Westchester and the entire Hudson River Valley as well as Connecticut, northern New Jersey and Long Island.
Strong, gusty northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph are forecast, with gusts of up to 50 mph. The strongest winds are expected during the daytime.
Isolated power outages are possible if weak trees, branches and poles are blown down by the strong winds.

A Gale Warning and Small Craft Advisory is also in effect for the waters of Long Island Sound.
