In a letter dated June 8 to the company, the FDA describes deplorable conditions at a plant in Massachusetts in which the meals are prepared and shipped to 74 stores in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York and Northern New Jersey, said the Huffington Post.
According to the letter, meals “were prepared, packed, or held under insanitary conditions whereby they may have been contaminated with filth or rendered injurious to health." The company told the Huffington Post that they had corrected the violations. But FDA officials said in the letter they didn't consider the corrections sufficient, added the Huffington Post.
