White Plains Police Spot 500 Milligrams of Cocaine

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Police say they caught a Greenburgh man with approximately 500 milligrams of what appeared to be cocaine on Friday evening. 

Officers say Stephen Davis, 44, was carrying the drug in a piece of plastic twisted into a makeshift bag near the intersections of Brookfield Street and E. Post Road.

Davis was arrested and charged with one count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. 

In other news from the police blotter:

- A Bloomingdale's sales associate alerted police Saturday night after he noticed a $665 Louis Vuitton wallet was stolen from the Westchester Mall shop.

The employee told police he offered to help a woman, but she declined assistance. Later he noticed a brown "Insolite" wallet was missing, and saw the same woman grab it off a counter and stash it in her shopping bag on video surveillance.

Bloomindale's security spotted the woman leaving with the stolen wallet in a gray Toyota Corolla, according to police. Officers say the car was registered in a Port Chester woman's name. 

- A 64-year-old White Plains man was arrested and charged with petite larceny, a misdemeanor, after police say he stole a $34.99 flashlight from Sears. 

An employee told officers she saw James Clark pull the Maglite Flashlight from a display, hide it in his rear pants pocket, and leave the store.
