White Plains BID Hires New Executive Director

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The White Plains Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) recently announced it selected a new executive director after spending two months sifting through over 100 resumes.

Kevin Nunn, who managed economic development corporations in the Bronx and Bridgeport, Conn., said he was pleased to be BID's new executive director.

"The city of White Plains and the [White Plains BID] have done a terrific job of creating a vibrant, diverse and eclectic community in downtown White Plains. I look forward to working with everyone to support, strengthen and grow these efforts," Nunn said in a press release.

Nunn's served as the deputy director of planning and the economic development under former Bronx Borough President Fernando Ferrer.

His experience as a government employee will be useful for the BID, according to BID Chair Bonnie Silverman.

"Kevin's unique combination of planning, economic development and government experience made him stand out among the other applicants. We believe he is the right person to build upon the successful programs initiated by his predecessor," Silverman said in a statement.

The previous executive director, Rick Ammirato, relocated to Florida in July after seven years of leading the approximately 300 businesses that comprise the White Plains BID.
