WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- A serious multi-vehicle accident resulted in the closure of a stretch of Route 22 in North White Plains for more than five hours Wednesday.
The accident, which occurred on the northbound side and involved a shuttle bus, occurred just before 6 p.m. near the Bronx River Parkway intersection, just beyond Westlake Drive near the Kensico Dam Plaza.
The shuttle bus driver suffered severe injuries, according to reports. Several non-life threatening injuries also occurred.
The stretch of the roadway that was closed, from Westlake Drive to Hillandale Avenue, reopened shortly before 11 p.m. Wednesday.
