Ribbon Cutting Opens Kid's Kloset in White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Pass It On Kid's Kloset, a volunteer-run organization that gives gently-used clothing to needy Westchester children, officially opened Thursday. 

Local politicians and Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) staff cut the ribbon at the WJCS-sponsored center Wednesday morning.

Stephanie Roth, the Kid's Kloset Director, said donating children's clothes, diapers and strollers to the downtown White Plains closet will aid families who can't afford new attire. 

"Unfortunately, in Westchester 12 percent of children under age 18 live in poverty," Roth said in a press release. "By providing clean children's clothing to these families we are also helping to reduce parental stress and increase children's self-esteem."
