People Trust Business More Than Government, New Survey Says

Do you trust the business community more than the government? If so, you are not alone.

A recent survey by Edelman's asking residents if they trusted the business community or their government more, showed they trusted business more than their leaders across the world.

Edelman's 2016 Trust Barometer revealed that people in most nations worldwide put their faith in business rather than government, according to Statistica. In Mexico, which has struggled with alarming levels of drug-related violence as well as political corruption, it comes as little surprise that there is a massive trust disparity between business and government with 76 percent of the people trusting business more than government.

The trust gap is similar in Brazil but narrows considerably in India, where business edges the government by a few percentage points.

In the United States and Great Britain, people also have more trust in the business sector than the government. In a small group of countries, however, the government comes first for trust. People in China, Russia and South Korea all had more faith in the government than in business, according to Edelman.
