New White Plains Parking Head on Heavy Hitters Fine List

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Acting Parking Commissioner John Larson appears as reluctant to pay parking fines as other drivers.

Larson, the Deputy Commissioner of parking selected to lead the department after Albert Moroni, the former commissioner, resigned, delayed clearing his $375 in parking tickets long enough to land on a list of "heavy hitters" who have acquired significant parking fines.

Larson either paid his outstanding fines or possibly had them forgiven because he's an employee, according to a parking department employee. City Hall has not yet returned calls seeking clarification of this issue.

The "heavy hitters" list obtained by The Daily White Plains shows Larson is no longer labeled an active scofflaw, or frequent violator, by the parking staff responsible for booting cars that monitor the list.

The document shows Larson, a Bronxville resident, racked up a handful of tickets, mainly while parking his Subaru in the evening or early morning.

Larson did not return a call for comment.
