WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Planned ticket fare hikes on Metro-North trains in 2015 and 2017 will not increase as much as originally anticipated, according to LoHud.com.

Because of an improved financial outlook for MTA, the hikes could reportedly be 4 percent instead of 7.5 percent each time.

The fare hikes will not completely go away, however, due to the payroll tax, according to the article.
