Lowey, Schumer, Maloney Meet With NTSB Officials, View Train Wreckage

VALHALLA, N.Y. --  U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D-Westchester) and Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney (D-Northern Westchester, Putnam) met with National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) officials on Friday and visited the North White Plains warehouse where the train wreckage from the horrific Metro-North collision.

Immediately after, the federal officials travelled to the site of the Valhalla crash with NTSB officials to view the scene and be briefed on the ongoing investigation.

Tuesday evening, a Metro-North train traveling on the Harlem line struck an SUV on its tracks in Valhalla, killing six and injuring many more, the deadliest collision in Metro-North’s history.
