A full moon will shine an extra light on the holiday when it makes an uncommon appearance Friday, according to reports.
The last full moon of the year is called “The First Cold Moon” since it coincides with winter. It hasn’t happened on Christmas since 1977 and won’t again until 2034, says US News & World Report.
It's also the last full moon of the 2015 calendar year.
