Lake Street Shooting Suspect Surrenders to Police

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Dominique Hospie, 18, surrendered to White Plains detectives last week after he was declared wanted in connection with the Sept. 2 Lake Street shooting, police said. He was in the presence of his attorney.

Hospie was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree criminal use of a firearm, and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. All the charges are felonies.

He was the second suspect to be arrested in the shooting.

"I believe that Mr. Hospie felt the pressure and our pursuit of him was relentless," White Plains Public Safety Commissioner David Chong said. "For him to turn himself in was for the best."

The victim from the shooting is recovering from his wounds, police said. He was taken to the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla with three gunshot wounds in critical but stable condition.
